7 Essential tips on TRAVELING with your pet

With winter holidays around the corner, here is our loving advice on planning a trip with your furry friend:

  1. RESEARCH pet-friendly destinations, hotels, restaurants and activities. If flying abroad, make sure you’re familiar with your airline’s Animal Policy, as well as local regulations on pet entry and quarantine requirements!
  2. HEALTH CHECK – ensure your beloved creature is healthy and has no upcoming vaccinations prior to your trip. Ideally, you should visit your vet before going away.
  3. TRAVEL-TRAIN your pet, especially if you haven’t been on holiday together before, so it’s less anxious during the actual trip. You can take car rides with it or bring it to places it’s never been to, so you both know what to expect when you’re in a similar situation on your vacation.
  4. BUY pet transportation accessories – pet travel bag/ backpack, cage, leash or whatever you’d need to move it around easily.
  5. PACK the little buddy’s luggage in advance, as you do with your own belongings. Ensure it would have what and where to sleep, eat and play. You might need an extra blanket or clothing for it too.
  6. PREPARE for the unexpected – it’s always a good idea to have pet tranquilizers when traveling, as animals can be unpredictable in certain situations. Also, anyone can feel nauseous during a flight, boat trip or a long car ride, so make sure you have sick bags, tissues and wet wipes at hand.
  7. HAVE A PLAN “B” – if for any reason you find that you can’t take your pet with you in the last minute, have a pet hotel in mind, where you can leave it until you’re back or warn a friend, who can take care of it for you!

HAPPY FURRY TRAVELS❣️🐾🧳🌞
